Pre-Discharge Personal Financial Management Course

Consumer Credit Counseling Service, Inc. (CCCS) is an approved provider of this service as required by the Bankruptcy Law. Once you have completed the personal financial management course, you will be issued a certificate which is needed for your bankruptcy to be discharged. Your bankruptcy case number is required in order to register for this class. YOU MUST FILE FOR BANKRUPTCY BEFORE TAKING THIS CLASS.
Joint filers must complete the course separately on the internet, each spending 2 hours on the course. Once we have received the forms and fee, you will be mailed a username and password to access the online education class. If you provided an email, this information will also be emailed to you. Refer to the Disclosure Form following the registration for fee information The mailing will also include other material to use along with the course. Using the username and password, you will be able to access the Pre-Discharge Education Class through our website on any day of the week and at any time of the day.
Once you have completed the course, we will be notified, and we will mail a certificate of completion; which is part of the paperwork necessary for your bankruptcy to be discharged. If you have provided an email, your certificate will be emailed to you upon completion. E-mailed certificates will be in a PDF format and can be opened by the Adobe Acrobat software.

Consumer Credit Counseling Service, Inc. (CCCS) has been serving the needs of Kansas consumers for more than 20 years. Our goal is to provide information intended to increase your understanding of a wide variety of financial topics.
How much will a Personal Financial Management Course cost?
CCCS charges $35 per for a single filer and $50 (total) for joint filers. The fee is our only compensation for providing this course. We do not pay or receive fees or other consideration for referring people to take this seminar. The fee will need to be paid prior to the course being taken. The course has been approved by the Executive Office of the United States Trustees. Upon completion of the course, CCCS will provide you with a certificate of completion that is necessary for your bankruptcy to be discharged. We offer this course without regard to an attendee’s ability to pay. We are required to show that you spend at least 2 hours taking the course.
Fee Waiver: Course fee waivers are available for verified low-income situations.
If we provided your pre-filing credit counseling session and we waived your fee for low-income, you should have received a fee waiver card. Please include the fee waiver card in the mail with your registration paperwork instead of the fee. If your fee was waived for low-income and you did not receive a card or if you obtained pre-filing counseling elsewhere and your fee was waived for low income, please call us before sending your registration paperwork.
